Abstrak

The aim of this research is to determine the writing ability of class V-A students at UPT SD Negeri 064025 T.A 2023/2024 by giving LOTS questions and to determine the writing ability of class V-A students at UPT SD Negeri 064025 T.A 2023/2024 by giving HOTS questions and to find out the influence giving HOTS-based questions on the writing ability of class V-A students at UPT SD Negeri 064025 T.A 2023/2024. The location and implementation of this research was carried out at UPT SD Negeri 064025 Jl. Flamboyan Raya Medan T.A 2023/2024 on 16-18 January 2024 as in this research were students in classes V-A and V-B with the number of students in class V-A being 25 people and class V-B being 24 people. This type of research is quasi-experimental with essay test instruments. The research results showed that the writing ability of students in class V-A got an average score of 68 after a post test was carried out by giving HOTS questions, the average final test result for class V-A students was 75.29 at UPT SD Negeri 064025 Jl. Flamboyan Raya Medam T.A 2023 /2024. And the writing ability of students in class V-B got an average score of 66.18 after a post test was carried out by giving LOTS questions in class V-B got an average score of 69.78 at UPT SD Negeri 064025 Jl. Flamboyan Raya Medan T.A 2023/2024. And the results of the significance test show that there is a significant influence on students' writing ability by using HOTS questions rather than using LOTS-based questions on the ability to write descriptions of class V students at UPT SD Negeri 064025 Jl. Flamboyan Raya Medan T.A 2023/2024.
