Abstrak

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of student learning outcomes in the Science subject on temperature and changes in the shape of objects using the problem based learning and Conventional Learning models in class IV SD inpres bung makassar T.P 2023/2024.The location of this research was carried out at SD inpres bung makassar T.P 2023/2024 as the subjects were students in class IV-A and IV-B with the number of students in class IV-A there were 29 people and class IV- B there are 27 people. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with an essay test instrument of 5 questions that have been validated by the validator.The average initial test result for class IV-A was 58,62 and the average initial test result for class IV-B was 55,74. After learning was carried out in class IV-A using the Direct Instruction learning model, the average student learning outcomes 78,62  and in class IV-B using Conventional Learning to obtain an average learning result of 75,74. Based on the calculation of the hypothesis test with a two-factor independent test, students who were taught by the Direct Instruction model and students who were taught by Conventional Learning obtained the results obtained Xcount (X2) = 3,48 > Xtable = 2,04. SoH_0 is rejected and H_1 is accepted, meaning that there is an influence from the problem based learning model on the science learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SD inpres bung makassar T.P 2023/2024
