This study explores the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students who participated in the Discovery Learning model, contrasting their results with those of their peers who received traditional instruction. Specifically, it assesses how the Discovery Learning approach, supplemented with visual media, influenced the science (IPAS) outcomes of students at UPT SPF SD Negeri 106177 Tungkusan during the 2024/2025 academic year.Designed as a quasi-experimental study, this research employed a pretest and posttest framework. Conducted at SD Negeri 106177 Tungkusan, the study included a total of 32 fourth-grade students. The sample comprised Class IVA, which served as the experimental group with 17 students, and Class IVB, acting as the control group with 15 students. Data collection involved administering essay tests containing five questions. Before the instructional sessions commenced, both classes undertook a pretest to assess their baseline knowledge. Class IVA achieved an average pretest score of 38. 24, while Class IVB scored slightly higher with an average of 39. 67. After implementing the different instructional strategies, the average posttest scores showed a significant disparity: Class IVA, which utilized the Discovery Learning model, attained an average score of 87. 06, compared to Class IVB's average of 81. 67 from conventional teaching methods. These results indicate that students taught through the Discovery Learning model outperformed their conventional counterparts. Further hypothesis testing using the t-test reinforced these findings, with a t-value of 2. 30, surpassing the critical value of 2. 04. As a result, the null hypothesis was rejected in favor of the alternative hypothesis. This outcome highlights the substantial positive impact of incorporating visual media within the Discovery Learning model on fourth-grade students' learning outcomes in science, especially concerning the topic of food chains, at SD Negeri 106177 Tungkusan for the 2024/2025 academic year
