This research aims to investigate the impact of the Problem-Based Learning model on enhancing critical thinking skills among fifth-grade students studying rectangular and cubic space figures at SD Negeri 053963 Raja Tengah. Employing a quasi-experimental research design, the study focused on the entire population of fifth-grade students, specifically classes V-A and V-B. The experimental class consisted of 17 students from V-A, who were taught using the Problem-Based Learning model, while the control class comprised 21 students from V-B, who did not receive this model of instruction. The results revealed that the experimental class achieved an average pre-test score of 49. 12. After implementing the Problem-Based Learning approach, the average post-test score for this group rose significantly to 90. 29, leading to a remarkable learning achievement level of 90%, with only 11% of students not meeting the criteria for completeness. In contrast, the control class recorded an average pre-test score of 50. 48, which increased to an average post-test score of 70. 48 following the treatment. This resulted in a learning completeness level of 70%, leaving 30% of students incomplete.Further analysis using a t-test yielded a t-value of 4. 698, surpassing the critical t-value of 2. 028 derived from interpolation. This indicates a significant effect of the Problem-Based Learning model on science education for fifth graders at SD Negeri 053963 Raja Tengah during the 2023/2024 academic year.
