Abstrak

This study aims to investigate the impact of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students enrolled in the IPAS subject at SD Negeri 068004, located in the Mangga Subdistrict of Medan Tuntungan District, for the 2024/2025 academic year. Employing a quasi-experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group structure, this research utilized an essay test comprising five questions as its assessment tool. The participants included Class VA, designated as the experimental group that received instruction through the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, and Class VB, serving as the control group, which was taught without this model. Following the instructional period, the results indicated that the average learning outcome for students in Class VA, who were taught using the PBL model, was significantly higher, achieving a score of 86. 08, compared to the average score of 68. 77 for students in Class VB, who did not benefit from the PBL approach. Based on hypothesis testing using the t-test, the calculated tcount = 8.43, while the ttable = 2.01, meaning that tcount > ttable or 8,43 > 2,01. Therefore, Ha is accepted, indicating that there is a significant effect of using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on the learning outcomes of Grade V students at UPT SDN 068004 in the IPAS subject.
