Abstrak

This study aims to analyze the impact of the ice breaking learning method on students' learning outcomes in the subject of Social Science and Natural Science (IPAS) in class IV at SD Negeri 060971 Medan Tuntungan for the 2024/2025 academic year. The research method used is quantitative with an experimental design. The sample used in this study consists of class IV students, divided into two groups: the experimental group, which applies the ice breaking method, and the control group, which does not use this method. Data on students' learning outcomes were obtained through pre-test and post-test assessments, administered before and after the implementation of the ice breaking method. The results show that the application of the ice breaking method has a significant effect on improving students' learning outcomes. Students who used the ice breaking method showed higher post-test scores compared to those who did not. This indicates that the ice breaking method can enhance students' motivation, engagement, and concentration, which in turn positively affects their understanding and learning outcomes in the IPAS subject.
