Abstrak

Rendang is results of hereditary habits in the meat-based food sector (usually beef) typical of Minangkabau indigenous, West Sumatera. The purpose of research is to know registration of geographical indications for rendang and know the ingredients that are usually used in the process of rendang refer to geographical indications. Methods of this research are normative juridist Main material used is the rules related with geographical indications. Protection of geographical indications had a purpose to cover the authentic from utilization that shouldn’t also give a chance and protection to people of the region producing typical products to get maximum benefit from these authentic products. Ingredients that use process of making rendang being a focus from every Minangkabau’s people for the meanings didn’t change.
