PENGARUH METODE INQUIRY TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN SISWA MENEMUKAN INFORMASI SECARA TEPAT DARI TEKS BERITA KELAS V SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstrak

This study aims to determine the effect of the Inquiry method on students' ability to find
appropriate information from news texts for class V SDN 067244 Medan Selayang
Academic Year 2022/2023. The research location is SDN 067244 Medan Selayang.
The method used by researchers is the experimental method. And the instrument used
by the researcher is in the form of an essay test, namely finding the right information

from the news text. Based on the results of the research it can be seen that the ability
to find the right information after treatment using the Inquiry method obtained an
average score of 87.5, including the very good category, while the group of students
using conventional methods obtained an average score of 79 including the sufficient
category. The use of the Inquiry learning method is more interesting because this media
allows students to find the right information from news texts easily. From the results of
this study it can be seen that the hypothesis is proven, by testing the hypothesis t test
obtained ???? = 5,36 > ????0,975(38) = 2,034. This means that there is a significant effect of
the use of the Inquiry method on students' ability to find appropriate information from
news texts for class V students at SDN 067244 Medan Selayang.
