Abstrak

This study aims to determine the activity of students in using the discovery learning
learning model in the science subject of class IV Assisi Catholic Private Elementary
School 2022/2023 Academic Year. Discovery learning learning model is a learning model
to develop students' active way of learning by finding themselves, investigating
themselves, then the results obtained will be loyal and long-lasting in memory, students
will not easily forget. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of
the discovery learning model on the activeness of students in science subjects in grade IV
of Assisi Catholic Private Elementary School, Medan Tuntungan District. This research
is an experimental research, with a quasi-experimental design. The population in this
study was the total number of students at Assisi Catholic Private Elementary School,
Medan Tuntungan District. The instruments used in this study were tests and
observations. Based on the research, it is known that the results of the hypothesis testing
obtained by the posttest t_count are greater than the value of t_table (273.44> 17.88),
which means H_o is rejected and H_a is accepted. So the conclusion of this study is that
there is an influence of the discovery learning learning model on the activity of students
in science subjects in class IV of Assisi Catholic Private Elementary School, Medan
Tuntungan District, Academic Year 2022/2023.
