Abstrak

The research was conducted at UPT SD Negeri 067246 Medan Tuntungan District because learning outcomes were still not optimal in the subject of Indonesian fiction text material. The research was conducted with the objectives of (1) Knowing student learning outcomes in Indonesian language material fiction text after using the Talking Stick Learning Model, (2) Knowing student learning outcomes in Indonesian language subject fiction text material after using conventional learning, (3) Knowing there is a significant effect on the Talking Stick Learning Model on Indonesian language learning outcomes UPT SD Negeri 067246 Medan Tuntungan District for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. Many of the samples in this study were 60 students in class VA and class VB. This type of research is quasi-experimental and the assessment is a test in the form of an essay test with 5 questions that have been validated by the validator. Testing the hypothesis using the statistical t test for the pre test and independent statistical test between the two factors for the post test with a significance level of α = 5% and the analysis requirements test, namely data normality and variance homogeneity.

The average score for class VA is 48.7 and the average score for class VB is 52.5. After the two classes carried out different learning, the average score for the VA class using the Talking Stick Learning Model was 82, and the average score for the VB class using Conventional Learning was 77, so the average value of students used the Talking Stick Learning Model higher than the average value of students using conventional learning.

Testing the hypothesis using the independent test formula between the two factors so that the final test data for class VA and class VB are obtained, namely tcount = 5.51 > ttable = 2.01. Because t_count>t_table, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of using the Talking Stick Learning Model on learning outcomes of Indonesian language fiction test material for class V UPT SD Negeri 067246 Medan Tuntungan District, Academic Year 2022/2023.
