Abstrak

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of observational teaching
methods on the writing skills of grade 5 students at SDS Pemuai for the
2023/2024 academic year. The population of this study was 31 students, all class
V students at SDS Pemuai for the 2023/2024 academic year. This quasiexperimental research uses a selection method called the full sample of class VA
as the test class and is carried out using the Discovery Learning method. VB
classes are organized classes taught in lecture format. The location and
implementation of this research was carried out at SDS Penuai Penai Jl. Setia
Budi No. 379, Tanjung Sari District. Medan Selayang Medan City is Indonesian
language course material for the 2023/2024 academic year. The SDS PENAAI
research was carried out on Wednesday 25 January 2024 to Monday 29 January
2024. The research revealed that the writing skills of class V-A students obtained
an average of 64.7333 points after being taught using the Discovery Learning
method, and o Average test results The final grade of VA SDS Future T.A
2023/2024 students was 75.6 points. And the writing skills of class V-B students
obtained 65.81 points after being taught using the classroom method, and the
average final test result for class V-B students at SDS Penguai FY 2023/2024 was
70.5 points. From the results of the significance test, it is known that SDS Pemuai
T.A 2023/2024 has a greater influence on the writing skills of class V students
who use the Discovery Learning method compared to using the reading method
on the writing skills of class V students
