Abstrak

This study aims to describe the folklore of Buton oondo momalangana incana (the tallhearted

sweet potato) as a learning material to form a positive identity in early childhood education. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis is by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The subjects of this research are 2 Buton culturists and 6 community members in Baubau city. Observations were also made at Al Mabrur Kindergarten and Kampung Wolio Kindergarten in Baubau City.  It can be concluded that positive identity in early childhood has an important meaning. Buton Oondo Momalangana Incana folklore is a folklore that can be used as literacy material in learning to foster positive identity in early childhood. This story has moral values 1) Open to diversity; 2) Respect for nature and the environment; 3) Family and friendship; 4) Courage; 5) Exemplary, which plays a role in the formation of a positive identity in young children. Implementation into learning can be done through role-playing activities, sensory play, and developmental play.
