Abstrak

This study aims to explore the impact of using image media on student learning outcomes concerning ethnic and cultural diversity in Indonesia within the Social Studies curriculum. The research was conducted in Class V at UPT SD Negeri 067244 Medan, prompted by the observed low performance of students in this subject area. The study employs a quasi-experimental design, incorporating both Pre-Test and Post-Test assessments across two classes. The sample comprises Class V-A (the experimental group) with 24 students who utilized image media, and Class V-B (the control group) with 23 students who did not use such media. An essay test consisting of five questions served as the research instrument. Upon evaluating the average scores, the experimental class achieved a final score of 68, while the control class recorded an average of 61. 69. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the t-test, leading to the conclusion that students who engaged with image media experienced significantly higher learning outcomes in Social Studies concerning ethnic and cultural diversity compared to those who did not. This finding underscores the effectiveness of image media in enhancing educational outcomes for Class V at UPT SD Negeri 067244 Medan during the 2024/2025 academic year.
