PENGARUH MEDIA PAPAN NILAI TEMPAT BILANGAN TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN NUMERASI SISWA KELAS V UPT SD NEGERI 064026 MEDAN TUNTUNGAN

This research was motivated by the low numeracy skills of class V students at UPT SD Negeri 064026, which can be seen from their difficulty in understanding mathematical concepts, especially the place value of numbers, in everyday life. One of the contributing factors is the use of less interesting learning media. This study aims to analyze the effect of using the number place value board on the numeracy skills of class V students at UPT SD Negeri 064026 Medan Tuntungan. This research was carried out on 29 October and 1 November 2024 involving all class V students, namely 24 students from class V-A and 27 students from class V-B, all of whom were used as research samples. The method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design, using a pretest-posttest control group design. The experimental class (27 students) used the number place value board media, while the control class (24 students) did not use this media. The pretest results show that the average student score in class V-A is 44.17, while in class V-B it is 42.97. After treatment, the posttest results increased to 78.5 in class V-A and 87.4 in class V-B. Hypothesis testing shows tcount (2.63) > ttable (1.68), which means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Thus, there is a significant influence of the use of number place value board media on the numeracy abilities of class V students at UPT SD Negeri 064026 Medan Tuntungan.
