This research aims to analyze the effect of the learning method of reading aloud through illustrated stories on the ability to understand factual texts and opinions of class IV students at SDN 105265 Suka Maju. The research method used was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design, involving two groups, namely the experimental class taught using the reading aloud method and the control class taught using the conventional method. Pre-test and post-test were carried out to measure students' abilities before and after implementing the method. The results showed that the average post-test score for experimental class students reached 86.6, while the control class only reached 75. Data analysis using the t-test showed that there was a significant difference between the two groups, with a p value <0.05. These findings indicate that the method of reading aloud through picture stories is effective in improving students' text comprehension abilities. It is hoped that this research can contribute to the development of more interesting and interactive teaching methods in basic education.
