Abstrak

This study aims to analyze the effect of using instructional videos on students' learning outcomes in the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject for fourth-grade students at SD Dharma Wanita Medan in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research employed an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects consisted of two classes: Class IV B as the experimental class, which utilized instructional videos during the learning process, and Class IV A as the control class, which employed conventional teaching methods. The research instrument was an essay-based test that had been previously validated. Data collection was conducted through a pretest to measure students' initial abilities and a posttest to evaluate learning improvement after the treatment. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical tests to identify significant differences between the two classes. The results showed that the use of instructional videos positively affected students' learning outcomes. This was evident from the higher average posttest scores in the experimental class compared to the control class. Furthermore, hypothesis testing indicated a significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental and control groups. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the use of instructional videos can enhance students' learning outcomes in the IPAS subject. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers utilize instructional videos as an alternative to support more interactive and effective learning processes.
