The process of learning appreciation of fairy tale literature in elementary schools has an important role in developing students' language skills, imagination, and moral understanding. Fairy tales as a form of literature not only present interesting stories, but also contain educational values that can shape students' characters. However, in practice, low interest and student learning outcomes are often caused by the lack of use of interactive and interesting learning media. This study aims to analyze the effect of using hand puppet media on learning outcomes of appreciation of fairy tale literature in grade IV students of SD Negeri 060971. The method used in this study was a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. The study population consisted of all grade IV students, divided into two classes with a total of 40 students. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling, which means that the entire population was used as a research sample. The experimental class consisted of 20 students who were taught using hand puppet media, while the control class consisted of 20 students who used the traditional lecture method. The results of the study showed a significant increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class compared to the control class. The average posttest score of the experimental class reached 78.5, while the control class only reached 71. Data analysis was carried out by hypothesis testing using the t-test, which showed that the t-count value was greater than the t-table. This indicates that the use of hand puppet media has a positive and significant effect on students' fairy tale literary appreciation learning outcomes. These findings indicate the importance of integrating interactive media in learning to improve students' interest and learning outcomes. By using hand puppet media, students can be more involved in learning, which encourages them to actively participate and imagine.
